They say, “If you want to learn how to play the opening, study openings. But if you want to learn how to play chess, study the endgame.”

Full disclosure: I used to think endgames were boring. But the more I study the endgame, the more amazing they become!

In this game we quickly traded down to a King and Pawn endgame. It first looked like an elementary draw, but under the surface there was so much more. I quickly found myself in a critical position that required an “only move” to save the win. This is definitely a game I will remember.
