The Gelfand challenge starts from the 10th of June where there will be a round robin of 19 rounds. The prize fund is US $ 15,000 and the winner gets a direct entry into the next leg of Meltwater Champions Tour. The time control is 10 minutes + 5 seconds increment. The Indian interest in the event lies because of the four young talents taking part – D. Gukesh, Nihal Sarin, Praggnanandhaa and Leon Mendonca. The event starts at 6.30 p.m. IST.

After day 2 Praggnanandhaa leads with 8.0/10, Gukesh is at shared third place 7.0/10, Nihal 5.0/10 and Leon 4.5/10.

The Women’s Speed Chess Championship 2021 is organized by and FIDE. The qualifiers for the event were held May 28-June 6, while the main event runs June 10-July 3. Players will battle for their share of a total prize fund of $66,000. On 12th of June at 7.30 p.m. Humpy takes on Bibisara Assaubayeva in the pre quarter finals.
